Learning Step By Step Daycare held over the camping theme for the second week .
The children love pretending to camping in boxes.

The children and I had a great week playing outside. The children played
Football, Baseball, Hiding Seek,Tug of War,and played on a new tire swing.

The Children learned how to clean corn on the cob. Then we washed and cooked the corn
for afternoon snack. The pictures of the children will tell how much they love corn on the cob .

The child also made camping brackets from things in the play yard.
The children learned a new dance called Camp Fire Dance.

Here the Camp Fire Dances.

Find some good ,fast paced, instrumental music for the following dance, As the music plays.introduce the dances one by one. Remember to model each dance step for the children so they can follow along. Do each step or a minute and then move onto the next . Hold a card in your hand with the dance names so the transition is smooth from one dance to the next.

Poison Oak Polka. Jump from right leg to left while scratching every part of your body.

Sprained Ankle Hop. Hop on one foot with holding the other foot to the beat of the music.

Buzzing Mosquito Bop . As you dance free-style swat at an imaginary mosquito while dodging and moving to ex cape his bite.

Dog Paddle Disco Pretend to dog paddle in the lake. Swim left then swim right.

Leap Frog Leap. Hop like a frog from place to place. Don't forget to rib it.

Call Fish Flop. Lay on the ground and flop around like a fish.

Hope you enjoy the picture of the children . Oh the best one is me in the box. I am playing hiding and seek with the children .lo I always get chosen to play. No watching , all ways in the children games.

JUST LOOKING BACK

This week we learned about camping.
We talked about different animals in the woods
We talked about fire safety.
We talked about different kinds of food we have on a camping trip.
We talked about things we did on a camping trip.

I got some boxes from Save Alot .The children played in boxes all week . I let the children paint the boxes. The children sure had a great time.

Here is a campfire song I like to share with you about camping.

Oh you put your marshmallow in, you take your marshmallow out,
you put your marshmallow in and you shake it all about ,
you do the campfire pokey, and you turn yourself about,
and that's what it all about, hey!
Substitute marshmallow with hot dog, potato, apple, popcorn,
and anything else that you can roast over the campfire.

We also had two birthdays this month.
Happy Birthday Tanner and Walker.

We had a great week with the children. I am sure going to miss them when school
start back. School start back August 10 2010.

This week we learned about Oceans.

The children did a finger play with five little ocean friends
The children used stick puppets for the ocean friends.

Five little oceans friends
on the oceans floor.
The starfish walks away
Now there are four.

Four little oceans friends
Living in the sea,
The crab slides away
Now there are three.

Three little oceans friends Looking for a clue,
Glub,Glup said the lobster.
Now there are two.

Two little ocean friends
Not having much fun,
Off swam the sea house
Now there is one.

One little octopus
Sad and all alone,
Back swims the starfish,
Back swims the crab,
Back swims the lobster,
Back swims the sea horse.
And they played in the foam.

The children also sang the following song about oceans.

Did you ever see a fishy?

Did you ever see a fishy.
A Fishy, Fishy?
Did you ever see a fishy.
Swim this way and that ?
Swim this way and that way.
And that way and this way?
Did you ever see a fish
Swim this way and that?

Add different verbs such as slide, swish, swish, and splash.

The boys just love to play with toys, W.W.E. which tanner brought to daycare to share.

LEARNING STEP BY STEP DAYCARE

This week we learned about different kinds of bugs.
The children had a good time in the yard looking for different bugs. The children found ants, bees, lighting bus ,hard shell bugs. and worms. The children had 10 lady bugs and we all took turns hiding the bugs and fining them . The children love to play hide and find..
We made different type of bugs for art. We played swimming pool and the sprinkler.
We played with shaving cream and cars . The boys just love to play in shaving cream.
The children also went to the library van and got movies, The library lady bring us books every two weeks .That sure is super.......
I had a easily week. my daughter in law father died. oh so sad.
The weather has been very hot. But we all went out side to get some exercise and fresh air. The cute child in the picture with me is my special grandson.

Learning Step By Step Daycare learned about 4Th of July.

Here is a poem we read.

WHOSE BIRTHDAY IS IT?

Some birthdays come in winter,
Some birthdays come in spring.
On birthdays there are games to play
And lots of songs to sing.
My favorite birthday is in July,
And it doesn't belong to me!
Its the birthday that lights up the sky
.For all the world to see !
Rockets glare, trumpets blare.
And bands begin to play HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICAN,
Its Independence Day!

The children also waved flags and sung the following poem.

WAVE WAVE WAVE THE FLAG,
HOLD IT VERY HIGH.
WATCH THE COLORS GENTLY WAVE,
UP IN THE SKY MARCH MARCH,
March March hold the flag up high,
WAVE ,WAVE ,WAVE THE FLAG ,
WAY UP IN THE SKY.

We had a great week at daycare . The weather was beautiful. The children play hard, and did great art work.

I have been off four days they have been great. Friday i took Colby ,Cameron and Tanner to the city pool. They play hard and had a good time.Saturday we went to the Stanton Drag strip it was a good race. We also seen fire works.Sunday we went to steak house and had dinner . It was so good. I also paint a picnic table. It looks too good..Man it was hot .TTFN
